Out of Review!
After our paperwork is sent to China, it needs to be reviewed by someone in the China Center of Adoption Affairs' (CCAA) review room. There is a backlog in the review room just as there is a backlog of people waiting to receive referrals. When all of the reviewers are finished reviewing files for a specific month, the CCAA updates their website. Yesterday, the website was updated to inform everyone that all the paperwork for families with a log in date (LID) of Sept. 30, 2006 or earlier have been reviewed. That is us! We were not asked any questions about our paperwork. This means we have passed review! It was nice to feel like a little bit of progress is being made.

Adoption Update
Well, I have finally found time to post on this blog. It has been a very hectic month. We are at the point in our adoption that we have to update many things. We traveled to Norfolk, Virginia a few weeks ago to update our fingerprints. I am not sure why we have to do this. I would think that our fingerprints do not change. However, from what we have been told, the fingerprints are not kept on file after they are approved.
Our social worker, Kristin, came to our house on Monday. She had to visit us at our home in order to update our home study. Once she updates the home study, we will send that to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services in order to update our I-171H. This is the paper that allows us to bring Abby into the country.
Unfortunately, the timeline to adopt a child from China keeps growing and growing. We may still have at least two more years to wait. Right now, all we can do is sit, wait, and hope that things speed up.
My goal is to update this blog from time to time. Hopefully, I can do it at least once a month. We are going to use it to update our family and friends about our adoption and everything else going on in our lives.
